To me it was always Marvel. Always. The reason for it is thus: I had always seen DC comic characters as "God-Like" characters than anything else. Superman was practically indistructable (which was the way his makers wanted him to be). The Justice League of America had two stations (one in Orbit and the other...in a cave...I think...I don't know). The station in orbit gave me the impression that they were again like Gods watching over the helpless mortals of planet earth.

Marvel had characters you could relate too. Spider-Man was the guy who recieved his powers when he was a teen and was dealing with what every teenager was dealing with when they were teenagers. Being a teen. Each character was flawed in his or her own right but that's what made them so human.

Call me a traditionalist, but I like my heros to be more man than God. A hero I can relate too if ya please. But make mine Marvel.

again like the rest of the marvel fans i like my heros more human and flawed, but as well as marvel having most of their heros as accidents and natural mutations, some of them are still god like in one way or another, like the fantastic four, i'm not much into the glamorous super heros, i like the modest, witty, vigilanties such as spider-man.

I love the Ultimates 3 so far,I like how eeryone's got some sort of problem and it makes the team harder to function and there's always something to be hung up on with a character that you just can't get over.Like to me Hawkey is such a freakin baddass and that's why i love him, he's not the same old school super hero pussy that was just there for the sake of the avengers being together,he's just got balls now....he's a little wacked out of the noodle...but he still has balls.

OH. and what about the Amalgam Univers? anyone think about that?...huh?

Marvel has characters that are far more down to earth. I like being able to relate and compare myself to the characters i read which i could comfortable say i could rarely do with DC.

In Marvel I feel like the characters and real people with real problems that fight for there cause and happen to have powers.

With DC I feel as though they are ridiculous individuals with ridiculous powers and abilities that for some reason took some vow to be righteous and protect everyone.

In conclusion one company has a character base with far more depth. As for authors, most of them switch back and forth from company to company that it's really leveled the playing field in that arena. I think I have good grounds for my decision, but really it just comes down to taste.

I was never really into Comic books so personally, I can't tell. Most of my male friends though read Marvel over DC. I guess it comes down to preference.
